It is a great honour for us to announce that The Java FEPOW Club 1942 now has Patrons…
HRH The Countess of Wessex who took a great interest in the FEPOWs that she met last year at the Buckingham Palace garden party is “delighted” to become our patron and we are now listed on the official web site of The British Monarchy's charities & patronages.
Additionally, Dame Vera Lynn who spent time boosting morale in the Far East and also took a great interest in our Club when she signed our book last year for auction at the reunion and AGM.
Who would have guessed when we started this Club that we would be honoured by royalty and a forces sweetheart? Both such lovely ladies, we thank them for their recognition of FEPOWs and support of our Club’s endeavours!
